Uber launches two new features to make ride-hailing easier
‘Dial an Uber’ is available in Nagpur, Kochi, Guwahati, and Jodhpur
NEW DELHI: Ride-hailing service Uber has rolled out two new features for its apps – ‘Dial an Uber’ and ‘Request a Ride for Others’. Both features are aimed to make it easier for riders and their friends to get around, even if they don’t have the Uber app. The ‘Dial an Uber’ feature allows users in India to access the company’s ride-hailing services in selected cities without requiring the app. They can just use the mobile website for this. ‘Dial an Uber’ is available in Nagpur, Kochi, Guwahati, and Jodhpur, making it possible for everyone to have access to reliable and low-cost uberGO rides. On the other hand, the ‘Request a Ride for Others’ feature allows current Uber users across all cities in India to book a ride on behalf of their family and friends. Users just need to set a pin and request a cab for others. They will then be prompted to choose who the ride is for and they can either select a contact from their phonebook, or manually enter a phone number. Along with this, users can also select from different modes of payment .
Once this is done, the rider will receive two text messages, one with the driver and car information and other with a link to track the ride. The driver will also be given the rider’s phone number to co-ordinate the pickup.
