Royal Enfield showcases two exclusive, custom-made bikes at the Wheels and Waves Festival in France
The 2017 Wheels and Waves Festival held in France is an event where bike lovers transcend their relationship from mere ownership to a culture of rethinking and innovation with their two-wheelers. Over the years the festival has become a bridge that connects the multifaceted world of motorcycles.
Royal Enfield has participated in this event for the third time and collaborated with UK based Sinroja Motorcycles, unveiling two exclusive renditions called ‘Surf Racer’ and ‘Gentleman Brat’, along with its range of motorcycles and gear.
The build of the ‘Surf Racer’ is inspired by the Sun and Sand lifestyle and is more in-tune with the Royal Enfield Continental GT, while the Gentleman Brat is built on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The Surf Racer can be defined as a classic cafe racer for easy and light motorcycling experience. At its core the ‘Surf Racer’ has a 535 cc single motor and adding a higher lift cam, machined piston barrels for higher compression and a new inlet manifold. It also has Dellorto carb conversion filter through which all the air gets sucked sitting alongside the under seat “jet” style tail exhaust. The bike has 17-inch performance rims with upside down forks and an under engine rear shock.
Meanwhile, the Gentleman Brat continues the ‘riding off anywhere’ legacy of the Royal Enfield Himalayan by “stripping away all the extras to reveal a tight, compact and irreverent machine”. As Royal Enfield describes it, the bike exudes does indeed exude a bit of a muscular appeal with its 16-inch rims and its fat, white-wall tires. It has a 411 cc long Stroke mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox capable of producing 24.5 bhp of power.
