Reliance Jio launches Rs 199 postpaid plan, offers 25GB data per month
Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio has today announced a new plan for its post-paid plan for its customers in the country.
The plan which comes into effect from May 15 offers unlimited calling and data benefits, besides international calling and international roaming facility, which is a first for any plan from Jio.Read more ↓
Called the ‘zero-touch’ postpaid plan, it includes 25GB of data, free voice calls, unlimited SMS messages and premium subscriptions to Jio Apps, as well as access to ISD calls all valid for a one-month period.
As for international calling, ISD facility is already preactivated without any security deposit whereas for international roaming, users need to activate it by ‘one click’. Both services do not require any security desposit.
Besides launching this exclusive plan for international calling benefits, Jio has also listed out international calling and international roaming tariffs that are available for prepaid subscribers as well.
International calling charges for Jio customers
Jio will charge its customers 50p/min for calls to USA and Canada; Rs 2/min for calls to Bangladesh, China, France, Italy, New Zealand, Singapore, and United Kingdom; Rs 3 per minute to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey; Rs 4 per minute to Australia, Bahrain, Pakistan, and Thailand; Rs 5 per minute to Germany, Ireland, Japan, Kuwait, Russia, and Vietnam, and Rs 6 per minute to Israel, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, UAE, and Uzbekistan.
Unlimited international roaming packs
There are three packs for users to choose from in case they want a plan for both national and international benefits.
At Rs 575, users get unlimited local calls in international destinations as well as to India, unlimited SMSes, and 250MB high-speed data for a day. At Rs 2,875, users get same calling benefits but 250MB data per day valid for 7 days and lastly, at Rs 5,751, users get same calling benefits and 5GB high speed data valid for a period of 30 days.
Announcing the plan in a statement, Jio said “Jio Postpaid brings a differentiated connected living experience to postpaid users and will once again challenge the industry status quo by offering the lowest tariffs in India and abroad to the postpaid users, who end up paying disproportionately higher as compared to the prepaid segment.”
