PVR and HP launch India’s first virtual reality lounge

NEW DELHI: PVR along with HP has launched Asia’s first virtual reality lounge. Called HP VR Lounge, virtual reality lounge has opened at PVR ECX, Mall of India, Noida. The concept involves four VR pods supported by the recently launched HP Omen gaming laptops, which is also VR-ready.

It has also been mentioned that the HP VR Lounge will provide a library of content across different genres such as drama, fiction, sci-fi, horror, action and more.

 “At PVR, we remain committed to providing an exceptional customer experience to our patrons. Virtual reality is the dawn of the new era that opens up limitless possibilities of pure entertainment. It transcends all boundaries of what is real and what is not and the high end technology by HP provides a complete immersion into the digital world,” said Ajay Bijli, chairman and managing director, PVR.

“HP’s innovation in the area of VR is yet another first from us where we continuously strive to provide the latest technology and world class experience to our customers. Our partnership with PVR will bring the best of technology for PVR patrons to touch and feel virtual reality,” added Ketan Patel, senior director, personal systems, HP India.

PVR plans to roll out 10 such VR lounges across different cinemas in India.

 To recall, HP unveiled its ‘Omen by HP’ gaming laptop and desktop portfolio+ for the Indian gaming market last month. The new Omen series includes five laptop models (including variants), a gaming desktop, a monitor and four accessories including a headset, keyboard, mouse and a mousepad.
HP says it will be launching more gaming products+ under this portfolio later this year.
 The PC maker not only plans to launch its Omen X 35-inch curved screen monitor in “another three months” but will also launch the Omen X desktops in around July-August time frame.
