Paytm brings back app on Apple store
NEW DELHI: iPhone users, here’s a ‘good news’ for you. One of the most popular mobile payments app Paytm is back on Apple’s App Store. Also for the current iPhone users with Paytm app, the company has rolled out a ‘critical bug fix’.
The fix comes a day after Paytm confirmed ‘bug’ in its iOS app which prevented users from accessing the service. “Today we found a bug in our iOS App where certain app users were not able to pay thereby hanging their app. Soon the system logged them out preventing them from further accessing their account,” the company said in a blog post.
The update to Paytm’s iOS app is numbered 5.8.2 and has been termed ‘critical bug fix’ as per the description on the App Store. “Please update your App immediately,” the description further tells iPhone users. However, the Noida-based company has not yet mentioned anything on its official blog regarding the update.
On Wednesday, the company had delisted its app from the App Store after service outage.Read more ↓
For those unaware, many iPhone users had been complaining of facing difficulties while transacting through the app. The company said that this was caused due to some “technical” error. “We are facing some technical issues. We will have it resolved shortly so please try again after some time,” read the message that appeared on user’s screen when they tried making transactions.
A Paytm spokesperson attributed the outage to challenges that the company is facing due to the sudden jump in number of users and associated traffic. The Indian government’s decision to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes and the consequent cash crunch has led to a sudden jump in the number of Paytm users.
