Nokia 9 launch imminent as it is spotted with 6GB RAM on Geekbench: Can it beat OnePlus 5, iPhone 8, Galaxy S8?
All eyes are now on HMD Global’s flagship Nokia 9 as the company’s budget smartphones – Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 – have already been launched. People are curious about the upcoming next-generation device not only because it is a comeback flagship from Nokia (now owned by HMD Global), but also for its expected features.
The Nokia 9 is likely to be announced in July, or latest by first half of August. Its exact release date is not known but its launch is imminent as it has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking site for the second time.
The handset has been listed as HMD Global TA-1012 on Geekbench with a multi-core score of 7603 while the same source had earlier listed a model — HMD Global TA-1004 — with multi-core score of 7770. The device is also seen with an Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocking at 1.90 GHz, and a 6GB RAM.
According to reports that have surfaced so far, the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display with a 1,440 x 2,560 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, a 6GB RAM, a 64GB/128GB internal memory (with microSD card slot), a 22MP PDAF with Zeiss optics, a 12MP front-snapper, and a 3,800mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
Reports also suggest that the Nokia 9 will have impressive specifications. But can it beat the already released Samsung Galaxy S8 and the upcoming flagships like OnePlus 5 and Apple iPhone 8? Nobody can give a definite answer or even close to it at the moment but the handset could give the flagships from other OEMS (Original Equipment Manufacturers) a run for its money.
The Nokia 9’s a multi-core score of 7603 for HMD Global TA-1012 model and 7770 for HMD Global TA-1004 model on Geekbench is higher than that of Xiaomi Mi 6 – 7598, Xperia XZ Premium – 7479, Huawei Mate 9 – 7290, and Galaxy S8 – 7252.
