Nokia 10 sketch with penta-lens camera module leaks

While the announcement of the Nokia 9 is awaited to happen at the MWC 2018 tech show in Barcelona on February 25, there are talks about the Nokia 10. A few months back, a tipster revealed a list of smartphones that might launch with the Snapdragon 845 chipset containing the Nokia 10 as well. The device is speculated to be launched with a penta-lens camera setup in August this year.

Following these claims, the Nokia 10’s schematics image was leaked online and it appeared to feature a revolver-like camera module at its rear. Now, a new NokiaPowerUser report has come up with a leaked image that shows the alleged drawing of Nokia 10 along with another smartphone. The drawing reveals the rear of the smartphone showing its camera design.

The sketch seems to have come from an industry insider and is based on the leaked details as well as a recent ZEISS patent for a mobile multi-lens camera solution. This technology utilizes an array of additional lenses having different focal lengths and mounted on a rotating lens base that is positioned between normal fixed lens and camera sensor.

As per the source, the Nokia 10’s camera module might look like a dual-lens camera with the lens at the middle working as the main camera while the rest of the lenses will be hidden in a module and might be rotated to modify the focal length. Still, the other lenses will work along with the main camera. The sketch of the Nokia 10 also shows an independent secondary camera that sits at the top but the functionality of the same is yet to be known.

The other details related to the Nokia 10 remain unknown for now. The company is yet to confirm the existence of the smartphone or its unusual camera design that has been leaked. Going by the existing reports, we can expect the Nokia 10 to be unveiled at the IFA 2018 tech show in Berlin in September. Also, the tipster has added that the device might be launched with a full-screen design just like the Nokia 9.

We still have enough time for the announcement of this flagship smartphone from HMD Global and we can we expect to get more details to be revealed in the coming months.
