No design overhaul for Apple Watch 2
The new variant will run on WatchOS 3.0 scheduled to launch this year.
The Apple Watch is expected to feature the same design as the previous version.

Apple will soon be launching the next iteration of its much awaited flagship, iPhone. The company is also expected to showcase the second generation of the Apple Watch soon.

As the launch date is inching closer, the smartwatch has been in the rumour mill for several reasons. The latest leaks suggest that the company will be unveiling the smartwatch in two variants.

According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, one version will sport a faster processor, while the other version, referred to as the Apple Watch 2, will feature a GPS radio and a barometer for improved geolocation capabilities.

The reports also claim that there will feature a better battery life and will not witness a design overhaul. It is also believed that the watch will continue to sport the same design for the 2017 model as well.

The new Apple Watch would fall in line with the next WatchOS 3.0 scheduled to launch this year.
