Is this the processing chip that will power the next iPhone?
Apple lovers eagerly hold their horses with immense anticipation on exactly what the next iPhone will look and feel like. Each day passes and we learn more about the features in the next iPhone from the numerous leaks and half-baked speculations sprawling all over the internet. Although, these leaks seem like the kind that holds only a certain percentage of possibility of actually taking place; they are enough to fuel our patience until the iPhone launch week in September.
The latest leak posted by GeekBar (via MacRumors), suggests the next iPhone may be powered with an A10 chip. While, we aren’t aware of the kind of performance boost that the expected device will receive if this is true; we can certainly predict the same on the basis of the performance observed in iPhone 6 and 6S through the previous two processing chips. The iPhone 6S gained a performance leap of over 70 per cent when it made the switch from A8 (in iPhone 6) to A9 chip.
Apple has been designing its own processors since the inception of A4 chip in the original iPad. These innovations are real testaments to Apple’s engineering skills. Moreover, it’s due to their processing chips that Apple has managed to remain competitive against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips in the market.
Only weeks left until we find out whether these rumors stand true to their word.
