Fitibit is considering adding an App Store-like feature on its upcoming smart wearables.

According to The Verge, in an interview at the CES, Fitbit co-founder and CEO James Park said that the company do want to launch its own wearable app store “as soon ass possible.”

The new app store is said to be built using software assets of Pebble, which Fitbit bought last month to strengthen the struggling startup’s position in the wearable market.

Pebble, which began as a crowdfunded project in 2012, had provided Fitibit with a store that consists of around 14,000 third-party apps.

“There are so many different applications [our partners] want to write from fitness-related ones to pill reminder applications. And we don’t have the support in place for that right now, or any software infrastructure on our devices to run those apps,” Park said.

Fitibit had announced to partner with UnitedHealthCare and Qualcomm to offer $1500 annual incentives to Charge 2 wearers.
