Asus has already confirmed that it will be hosting a launch event at the upcoming MWC 2018. While there is no official word yet, the company is expected to launch the ZenFone 5 series of smartphones at the tech show. The event is slated for February 27 and it will kick off at 7:30 PM CET (12 AM IST). Soon after Asus’s announcement, the ZenFone 5 specifications and concept renders surfaced online.

Now another smartphone from the Asus ZenFone 5 series has been leaked by famed tipster Evan Blass through via Twitter. The leak comes in the form of a render of the ZenFone 5 Lite along with some key specifications. That said, the device could launch with a different moniker if the company follows its unusual naming. To start with the render, the ZenFone 5 Lite is shown in White color. However, there will be other color options like Black and Red. As for the design, the smartphone appears to feature the 18:9 display, which has sort of become the norm in the mobile device industry. The bezels on the device are not so thin, in fact the top and bottom bezels are pretty prominent.

Despite having enough space at the front, the ZenFone 5 Lite doesn’t feature a physical home button. Though there are two selfie cameras and an earpiece at the top. The selfie cameras are accompanied by an LED flash.

The smartphone houses a vertically stacked dual camera setup along with a LED flash at the rear. The fingerprint scanner is placed a little below the camera module. All in all, the design looks decent but not something new.

As far as the specifications are concerned, Blass has revealed the camera configuration of the Asus ZenFone Lite. We already know that it will be quad camera smartphone just like the Honor 9i which was launched in India last year. Going by the tipster’s claim, there will be two 20-megapixel image sensors and the front, while the rear dual camera setup will be comprised of two 16-megapixel sensors.
