Acer announces Liquid smartphones, Iconia Talk S tablet at IFA 2016
Acer has expanded its gadget portfolio with the launch of its Liquid series of smartphones and the Iconia Talk S tablet at the consumer trade show, IFA 2016. The company showcased the Liquid Z6 and the Z6 Plus.
Acer Liquid Z6 sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D glass and a quad-core MediaTek 6737 chipset paired with 1GB of RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage, but Acer hasn’t mentioned anything about a microSD port on the phone.
The smartphone boasts an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing snapper. It has a plastic built and draws power from a small 2,000mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
In contrast, the Liquid Z6 Plus packs a much larger, 5.5-inch 2.5D glass Full HD display. It also comes with an octa-core MT6753 processor and 3GB of RAM. Internal memory reaches 32GB, with the option to expand using a microSD card. Aside from this, rear camera capacity reaches 13MP on the Liquid Z6 Plus, with a 5MP unit on the front.
Acer also launched its Iconia Talk S tablet alongside the smartphones. It features a 7 inch 720p display and is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU with 2GB of RAM.
It packs a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera and will ship in 16GB and 32GB variants. The internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Acer’s Iconia Suite of apps.
Iconia Talk S will be available in EMEA starting September for the price of €169 ($190) while Liquid Z6 and Liquid Z6 Plus will be available in EMEA starting November and December for the price of €119 and €249, respectively.
